Join us for an out-of-this-world program celebrating the release of the new Dr. Vera Rubin quarter! Part of the American Women Quarters™ Program, which celebrates the accomplishments and contributions made by women in the United States, the quarter honors Dr. Vera Rubin as an astronomer whose discoveries shed light on one of our Universe's biggest mysteries, dark matter! 
 
Learn more about how Dr. Vera Rubin's work transformed our understanding of the universe and her legacy of championing women in science in a discussion with panelists:

  • Ashley Yeager — Biographer of Vera Rubin, and Science Writer
  • Dr. Deidre Hunter — Historic Collaborator with Vera Rubin and Astronomer at Lowell Observatory
  • Prof. Priya Natarajan — Theoretical astrophysicist, Chair of Astronomy at Yale, and Principal Investigator at Black Hole Initiative
  • Astronaut Cady Coleman — Astronaut on STS-93 that launched the Chandra X-ray Observatory, Chemist, and USAF Colonel
  • Dr. Dominika Król — High-Energy Astrophysicist at the Center for Astrophysics | Harvard & Smithsonian
